This is another photo taken during our trip to Illinois; it’s a beautiful blue wildflower that I just couldn’t get enough of.  I love the perspective in this photo – it’s totally un-retouched, but you get a nice sense of blurring in the background.  I also love the little petal just curling up towards the camera.

This wildflower sprang up in my yard a few years back.  Sadly, it hasn’t returned and I haven’t seen another one anywhere.  I’m sure it’s technically a weed, just like this one, but I don’t care.  It’s too pretty to pull up!

I wish I knew exactly what this wildflower’s name was, but it’s beautiful nonetheless.  They seem to run rampant in San Diego county, and they’re probably as much a weed as dandelion, but most people agree that they’re beautiful.  I for one would rather let them grow than cut them down – they just make me smile to look at them.

This was taken quite a while ago, after a rainstorm, and I love how the flower is just dotted with drops.
